• a journey through some remarkable civilisations  and their global connections
• ground-breaking research by leading experts tell a  compelling story of art, innovation, trade and learning
• archaeological detective trails from the discovery of extraordinary artefacts to the empires that created them
• dramatic graphic reconstructions of key sites
• the vibrant landscapes and peoples of today’s Africa will bring the past alive

Music such as the mesmerising songs of West African griots or the graceful melodies of Southern Africa’s mbira musicians will illuminate and bring depth to these stories.
