Guzha elected President of Arterial Network

Guzha will focus on building national, regional, continental and international circuits to distribute African cultural goods and services and enable African artists to tour their works and generate income through their creative output.
“My main reason for joining Arterial Network was, and is still, my strong belief that the continent’s problems are best articulated and resolved through the creative and cultural industries. The positive words and images that art and culture can give, help to build self belief. Africans can continue to mislead each other and talk about developing tourism, mining industries and other sectors, but in order to achieve these goals we need people who believe in themselves and who work together.
The word ’Ubuntu’ sums up my feelings perfectly. It is our collective moral compass and exists in all African DNA: « I am because you are ». I entered Arterial Network because I wanted to work with others and do my part by adding a few bricks to this house we are building. A house of hope and possibilities based on fighting for the recognition of the value of the African art forms”.
